PayPal Standard Checkout Provider Configuration

PayPal standard is available as a built-in checkout provider in all versions of Site Store Professional (except trial). With PayPal Standard, payment information is entered on the PayPal site for online orders.

To use PayPal Standard, you must have a verified PayPal Business or Premier account. You can sign up for a PayPal account at https://www.paypal.com.

Enrolling for a PayPal Business or Premier account is very simple and does not require a credit check or the long application process that is typically required with a traditional online merchant account. If you have an active checking account, you will be approved for a PayPal Business or Premier account. (Note: PayPal Pro accounts will require a credit check and longer application process however.)

To enable PayPal Standard, simply select ‘PayPal Standard w/ IPN’ on the ‘Checkout URL, SSL Settings & Payment Provider Selection (Main Configuration)’ screen and then complete the settings on the PayPal Standard configuration screen.

The PayPal Standard configuration is located at ‘Store Setup’ > PayPal Standard with IPN Settings’

To activate an online store (launch) using PayPal standard, simply set the Order Post Status to ‘Live’ and then enter your PRIMARY PayPal email.

Note: If you have multiple email accounts associated with your PayPal account, you must enter your Primary email account.

It is HIGHLY recommended that you leave the ‘Automatic IPN’ feature checked “ON”. Do not uncheck ‘Automatic IPN’ unless you will be using a custom checkout and notification system.

Note: You can also accept PayPal with any other payment providers by entering your PayPal API Signature Information into the specific provider’s configuration screen.
