Most Site Store Pro installations can be integrated simply by modifying the design of the store and controlling the ecommerce features through the web-based admin system.

However, If your specific installation required modification of any of the files located in the /SiteStorePro/ or /estore_admin/ folders,  please follow the instructions below to ensure that your customizations are not lost during an upgrade from the trial version and/or upgrading to a newer release version.

Note:  This only applies to non-design related files located in the /SiteStorePro/ & /estore_admin/ folders. 

All design-related files located in the /store/, /checkout/, /myaccount/, /css/, and root folders are not modified or replaced during an upgrade. Also, all files updated by the .DWT template files are also not replaced during an upgrade.

When modifying any files that are located in the /sitestorepro/ or /estore_admin/ folders, it is highly recommended that you either rename your customized version(s) to different file name(s) and/or make a backup of the file(s) that are customized.

Renaming your customized files and/or making backups of your customized files will prevent your customizations from being permanently replaced when upgrading your Site Store Pro installation to a newer version and/or from the trial version.

Steps to restore any custom files after performing a Site Store Pro upgrade:

•          If you have made a backup of any files that are customized in the /sitestorepro/ or /estore_admin/ folders, simply copy your customized files from your backup to your installation after performing a trial or version upgrade. 

•        If you have renamed your customized files to different file name(s) and linked your pages to the new file names, your files will not be replaced during an upgrade and therefore any modifications will rename in effect.

Note: You are free to customize Site Store Professional to include additional functionality in the shopping cart or admin system and/or to modify the appearance of certain built-in Site Store Pro features. Following the recommendation above will simply prevent the customizations from being overwritten by the default installation files.

Some files (features) that are frequently customized by designers and developers are:

•  Left Menu include files

• “Bread Crumb”  display include files

•  Search Bar Include File

• Quick Cart Include File
