Does Site Store Professional come in a trial version?
Yes, Site Store Pro comes in the free, Lite (Trial) version that is available as an instant download.
The Site Store Pro Lite Version can be installed on your server to test drive the software with your products and website design. The trial version is limited to a maximum of 30 products and has payment provider support disabled.

Site Store Professional provides powerful shopping cart functionality without limiting the website design to a template-based layout.

How is Site Store Professional Installed?
Site Store Professional is installed in two parts: The back-end SQL Server database (MSSQL) and the store ASP files.
Once the database has been installed on the web host or a local testing server and the ASP files have been transferred or extracted to the server, the store can configured through the web-based admin system.
SiteStorePro.com provides FREE server installation for licensed versions of Site Store Pro, including the trial version. (Free install of Site Store Pro is limited to 1 free install for the Lite (trial), PayPal and Enterprise versions and 2 Free server installs for the Developer version). The installation process is outlined in the help documentation and our support technicians are available for server installation assistance.
How is Site Store Professional “setup” after the database and source files have been setup on the server?
Site Store Professional is setup in the following steps:
- Set SQL Server connection String in the /Connections/SiteStoreProDB.asp file to match the login information for your MSSQL database.
- Visit /estore_admin/ to activate the software with your license key and setup the administration “Master” user account.
- Setup The Store URL and Checkout URL inside the admin to reflect your installation location.
- Add Categories & Products through the web-based admin.
- Modify the design of the files in the /store, /myaccount and /checkout folders to match your website’s design.
- Modify the Customer Registration Form(s), Order Options Page, Order Review Page, Order Confirmation Page and Auto Generated Emails in the web-based admin to meet your store’s content requirements.
- Setup Shipping Preferences And Checkout Provider
- Create test customer and run test orders in Demo-Mode and/or “test-mode” for your payment gateway to verify that the store content is displayed correctly and the user experience is correct.
- Activate Advanced Features such as Rewards Program (optional)
- Set Checkout To “Live” Mode and launch the new store!.
Is the Site Store Pro storefront design "template-driven"?
No, Site Store Professional is not a template ecommerce system. Site Store Pro is designed to allow designers, developers and site owners to apply Site Store Pro easily to any website design. There are no design restrictions with Site Store Pro.
However, Dreamweaver users can use the included Dreamweaver Template (dwt) integration to apply site-wide design updates to the store design. Site Store Professional comes with pre-built templates for the base store files, the shopping cart, the my account area and the checkout files. These templates can be easily modified to reflect your website design and then used to automatically update all pages based on the specific DW template(s).
How long does it take to setup an online store with Site Store Pro?
The installation process of Site Store Pro can be completed in under 20 minutes.
The setup of the store however is determined by a variety of factors including the design status of the website, the number of products to be added to the system, advanced merchandising options such as cross-selling, item options configuration, etc.
The amount of time required to launch (complete) the online store is dependent on the content requirements of the store and the experience of the administrator(s) applying (entering) the content into the system and modifying the store design.
Can existing products from a file or database be imported into Site Store Professional to save time entering data?
Yes, you can import general product information such as name, description and price from any delimited file source (CSV, Excel) or database. However, category association(s), item options such as size & color and images will then have to be applied to each imported product.
Do you recommend a specific webhosting company for Site Store Professional?
We do not recommend any specific web host. However, any web host that runs Windows-based server(s) and has SQL Server support (MSSQL) will normally work with Site Store Pro.
How often is a new version of Site Store Pro released and are updates free?
Site Store Pro is always under development and we are constantly adding new features. Purchase of Site Store Professional entitles the license holder to 2 years of free updates (versions.)
SiteStorePro.com typically release a new "major version every 6 months with bug updates and minor releases done on a per issue basis.

Do I have to own Dreamweaver to use Site Store Pro?
No, Dreamweaver is not required for using Site Store Professional. However, Site Store Pro was created to integrate seamlessly into the Dreamweaver design environment.
Dreamweaver users will be able to use the built-in DW (dwt) template features to easily modify the demo store. Dreamweaver’s CSS capabilities also allow simple editing of the Site Store Pro CSS files that control the look-and-feel of the dynamically-generated content.
Does Site Store Pro come with a Dreamweaver extension?
The new version of Site Store Pro does not require an extension installation because the core shopping cart features are controlled through the web-based admin system.
Does Site Store Pro support payment providers that are not built-in to the web-based admin system?
Yes, Site Store Pro uses an Open API architecture that allows for the addition of custom payment gateways. SiteStorePro.com provides integration assistance to get a non-supported (custom) gateway to work with the Site Store Pro checkout process. However, If you would like Site Store Pro to add and test a custom gateway, we charge $60/hour. Typically integration time for custom gateways is 1-3 hours. Furthermore, if for any reason, the custom gateway will not work with Site Store Pro, we will refund 100% of the integration fees.
Does Site Store Pro require a "powered by Site Store Pro" disclaimer or can I brand it to my own company?
You are not required to brand the public storefront pages or admin pages with Site Store Professional logo or link information. You are free to brand the installation of Site Store Pro without any identifying logo, links or information or replace the Site Store Pro information with links to your company. (Applicable to designers and developers who resell Site Store Pro as an shopping cart integration service.)
However, removal of the Site Store Professional copyright information contained inside the ASP shopping cart engine source code is not permitted. Furthermore, you are not permitted to resell Site Store Pro as a stand-alone software product. Developers who wish to resell Site Store Pro must do so with integration or design-services included with the Site Store Professional application..
What support channels are available with Site Store Pro?
Our primary support channels are via email and through our toll-free support line. We will respond within 4 business hours to ANY support request. However, our typical response time is less than 1 hour (24 hours a day | 7 Days a Week). The number of toll-free phone incidents varies based on the version purchase. However, email support is free and there is no limit on the number of email-based support requests.
Does SiteStorePro.com provide design integration assistance?
Basic site design integration is included with the purchase of a Site Store Professional PayPal, Enterprise or Developer License. Site Store Pro support can assist you with integrating your existing website into the shopping cart system by answering general questions regarding layout, CSS file modifications(s) and which content is controlled through the web-based admin versus the actual page design. There is typically no charge for basic design integration assistance. However, for custom integration requests that require remote access to a development system and/or advanced design integration that requires direct file modification(s) by our technicians of your site design, Site Store Pro charges $60.00/hour (USD).
Does Site Store Professional provide website design services?
SiteStorePro.com does not provide complete site design services. Instead we focus primarily on assisting customers' integratration of Site Store Pro with existing websites. For complete website design or website redesign projects, we would recommend a qualified 3rd party design firm that has experience with Site Store Pro shopping cart projects.
Does Site Store Professional provide custom programming services for the Site Store Pro software?
Yes, SiteStorePro.com provides programming services for custom feature requests and advanced server configuration scenarios. Custom Integration rates start at $60.00/hour (USD)

Does Site Store Professional provide administrator (user) training?
Yes, SiteStorePro.com provides virtual meeting room training sessions for licensed Site Store Pro customers. Training sessions can be reserved in 1-3 hour blocks and cover topics such as products, customers and order management, discounts setup, rewards program configuration, advanced design integration assistance and website marketing and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) techniques.
Why cannot I open my Site Store Pro software download file?
Site Store Pro Versions are distributed via zip files that are available in your account manager after purchase of a license or registering for a trial. In order to open the file, your computer must be able to open (extract) compressed zip file using a third party program such as WinZip or the built-in zipfile explorer in Windows XP and Vista.
Occasionally, downloaded files are corrupted during the download process due to Internet connectivity problems, etc. If you cannot open your downloaded zip file but can open other zip files, simply log-in to your customer account and re-download the file.
If re-downloading the file does not solve the issue, your firewall and/or Internet Security software may be preventing the download from completing successfully. Please call or email customer support and we will provide you with an alternate file retrieval method. (Note: Your account will not be debited a phone support incident for download issues).
When activating my copy of Site Store Pro, the ‘Connecting To Site Store Pro Activation Server' SCREEN appears but nothing happens?
Simply refresh the browser to reset the connection to the activation server. If you continue to experience connection issues to our activation server, please contact support for assistance.
I entered my email address, password and serial number but the activation is still failing?
Please verify that the information entered is the same info on your original email order confirmation. If you still experience activation issues, please call or email customer support and we will assist you with the activation process. (Note: Your account will not be debited a phone support incident for activation issues.).
Why do I receive a message similar to the one below or an ASP error after installing SiteStore Professional when trying to access the site (store files) or administration area?
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80004005)[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
Your MS SQL server connection information (string) is invalid or has not been changed from the SiteStorePro installation default values.
You need to change the username or password information in the SiteStoreProDB.asp file located in the Connections Folder of your Site Store Professional Installation to match your SQL server login information.
The values in RED need to be replaced with the values provided by your webhosting company or the values of your local or collocated MS SQL server database.
The following values need to be entered to connect to your specific MS SQL Database.
server = The servername or IP Address of your MS SQL Server
uid = The username provided by your webhost or entered when setting up the database
pwd = The password provided by your webhost or entered when setting up the database
database = The name of the database provided by your webhost or entered when setting up the database.
"driver={SQL Server};server=SERVERNAME;uid=USERNAME;pwd=PASSWORD;database=DATABASE_NAME"
If you need additional assistance setting the correct MS SQL connection string for your SiteStorePro installation, please contact support and will be glad to help you set the correct values in the SQL Server connection string.
Can I use a Shared SSL certificate with Site Store Pro?
Yes, simply login to the web-based admin (/estore_admin), go to STORE SETUP > CHECKOUT SETUP > CHECKOUT URL, SSL SETTINGS & PAYMENT PROVIDER SELECTION and set the Checkout and/or SECURE URL to the shared SSL address for your account. The URL will vary but your ISP will provide you with the correct link (URL).
Usually the link will look something like: https://server001.myisp.com/mydomain
Does the Site Store Professional ASP version run on Unix/Linux based servers with ASP emulation software installed such as Chilisoft?
No, Site Store Professional ASP version requires IIS 5.0 or above (Windows Hosting Account)
I'm trying to upload images or media files in the admin but I keep receiving a permissions error or ASP error?
You need to set the permissions for the IUSR account to read/write/delete (Modify) for the following folders:
\store_content\
\includes\common\lib\file_upload\Temp\
The permissions can usually be set in your hosting account control panel. Please contact support if you need assistance setting the upload settings for your webserver.
I added a product or event and the new item does not appear in the search results?
The item must be enabled (set to active "ON") and at least one image must be set to 'Appear In Search Results' in the the item's image manager for the product to appear on the store.
System-generated emails are not being sent from the website (online store) and/or there is an error message when trying to send messages?
Your ASP email component on the server is probably not configured correctly in the admin. Please check what email component(s) your server supports (ex. CDONTS, CDOSYS, ASPEmail using the component test in the EMAIL section of the admin and then setup the supported component using the Set Active Email (SMTP) Server Component link.
You can test if the system is setup to send email correctly by sending a test message by clicking on one of the profiles in the EMAIL section of the admin.
If the test message goes through but you are still receiving an error on the website, make sure that the specific message type (i.e. Customer Registration Confirmation, Order Confirmation, Tell-A-Friend, etc) is set to Active in the EMAIL section of the admin.
The images do not show up and/or links do not work in emails sent from my store (Tell-A-Friend, Password Retrieval, Order Confirmation, Shipping Confirmation or Specials Notifications, etc.)
Please verify that the website's "root" URL (domain name) is correctly setup in the web-based admin.
The Store URL is the first link (option) in the SETUP section inside the admin.
The URL must be in the form: http://www.mystore.com
I opened some ASP files with my HTML editor and all I see is garbage characters?
These are encrypted, non-editable files that are not available in the Lite version of Site Store Professional ASP ecommerce.
Files that do not affect website design integration are encrypted to protect our intellectual property rights and to limit some features in the free version of SiteStorePro. These files are available in non-encrypted format in the PayPal, Enterprise and Developer versions of Site Store Pro.
